Steps

  1. Draw a two-zone protection scheme and set a trip current and time delay for each relay.
  2. Build two feeder circuits with resistor loads, current sensors, and relays.
  3. Program the Arduino to trip a relay when current in its zone stays above its setting.
  4. Simulate a fault in each zone by adding load and confirm only that zone trips.
  5. Adjust time delays until the relays coordinate correctly every time.
  6. Document the scheme, settings, and test results for your portfolio.

What to photograph for your portfolio

  • Two-zone protection build
  • selective tripping demo
  • coordination timing plots
  • fault logs
